Koch Foods in Hamblen County, Tennessee are facing a lawsuit over the foul fowl smells coming from their chicken processing plant. Koch foods processing chicken meat for the fast food restaurants in the area.
The local residents and their Tennessee personal injury lawyers claim that the odor violates the Federal Clean Water Act by the dumping of waste into the sewer systems. Koch Foods has been in the area for two years and is also facing civil fines and recovery costs.

Jeffrey Shapiro has filed lawsuits against two HIV / AIDS non-profit agencies for wrongful termination. The lawsuit alleges Shapiro was fired for not being gay.
Shapiro is the former director of the AIDS / LifeCycle fundraiser in California, a 545-mile bicycling event down the coastline between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The June 2007 ride took in $11 million, the largest amount ever.

Six plaintiffs had brought a personal injury lawsuit against the State of Iowa for a famous (and not infamous) 1939 stuttering experiment. Under the experiment, children were badgered and berated in order to accentuate the speech impediments.
The experiments were conducted by researchers at the University of Iowa. The six plaintiff claimed lifelong emotional and psychological scars because of the harsh treatment. The Iowa personal injury lawyers for the six had originally sought $13.5 million in the “Monster Study” case. The settlement calls for a payment of $4.5 million. |
